Rory's iPhone passcode compromised on national TV

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Among the many amusing things learned during the 1 hour, 51 minute weather delay Sunday at the PGA Championship was, believe it or not, the passcode to Rory McIlroy’s iPhone.

Not kidding.

As CBS went to a commercial during break late in the delay it showed a clip of McIlroy inside the clubhouse. At the very end McIlroy picked up his iPhone and tapped in his passcode. Within mere seconds Twitter was abuzz with the fact you could tell his passcode was 4589, which happens to be his birthday – May 4, 1989. (Note: Europeans record dates differently than Americans and list it by day, month, year.)

Minutes later “Rory’s iPhone” was trending on Twitter.

To have fun with the whole snafu McIlroy then sent out a tweet that said, “Passcode changed… Now time to play some golf!"

McIlroy is searching for his third consecutive victory and second major championship in a row. He leads unheralded Bernd Wiesberger by a shot and Rickie Fowler by two shots. He’s set to tee off at 4:19 p.m. ET.
