For the first time since first appearing at No. 1,414 in August 2008, Troy Merritt has cracked the Official World Golf Ranking's top 100.

Thanks to his victory at the Quicken Loans National on Sunday, Merritt is now 99th in the world, up from 180th. The 29-year-old will play in the WGC-Bridgestone this week and in his first career major, the PGA Championship, next week.

One spot behind Merritt on the leaderboard, Rickie Fowler used his runner-up finish to vault to No. 5, tying his highest career ranking, which he ascended to and dropped from last month.

Meanwhile, in Aberdeen, Scotland, Thailand's Kiradesch Aphibrant bested Sweden's Robert Karlsson to win the Paul Lawrie Match Play and bump up to 67th from 92nd. Karlsson enjoyed a boost of his own, moving from 187th to 131st.

And in the weekly Tiger Woods watch, the former world No. 1 actually moved up four spots, from 266th to 262nd, with his T-18 finish in Virginia. This marks, believe it or not, the first upward movement for Woods in the OWGR since the week of April 11. He now sits sandwiched between the United States' Hudson Swafford and England's David Horsey.

Here is your Official World Golf Ranking top 10 for the week of Aug. 2: 1. Rory McIlroy, 2. Jordan Spieth, 3. Bubba Watson, 4. Jason Day, 5. Rickie Fowler, 6. Jim Furyk, 7. Dustin Johnson, 8. Justin Rose, 9. Henrik Stenson, 10. Sergio Garcia.
