There were a couple of big moves in the Official World Golf Ranking, but none that mattered in relation to the U.S. Open.
No player outside the top 60 as last week began was able to crack the final Open cutoff. John Senden remained in the 60th position; though, he had previously qualified for the season’ second major. Kevin Kisner (No. 55) and Andy Sullivan (58) qualified based on being inside the top 60.
On the European Tour, Chris Wood captured the Lyoness Open. That got him up to 78th in the latest OWGR, up from 124th.
Tiger Woods enters the U.S. Open ranked 195th in the world, one spot behind Julien Quesne and one spot ahead of Jaques Blaauw.
