Inbee Park is looking to go wire-to-wire in back-to-back victories.
With a 4-under-par 69 Thursday, Park grabbed a share of the lead at the World Ladies Championship in Hainan, China. Park is tied with Becky Morgan of Wales, two shots ahead of fellow South Korean Shin-Ae Ahn, China’s Xiyu Lin and Thailand’s Pavarisa Yoktuan and Nontaya Srisawang. South Korea’s So Yeon Ryu is in a pack three shots back and Norway’s Suzann Pettersen is among players four behind.
Park, the Rolex world No. 2, is the defending champion at Mission Hills. She’s coming off a victory last week at the HSBC Women’s Champions in Singapore, where she led, or shared the lead, after every round.
Park’s string of consecutive holes without a bogey ended at 99 Thursday when she bogeyed her eighth hole on Mission Hills’ Blackstone Course. It was her first bogey since the 16th hole of the third round of the Honda LPGA Thailand the week before the HSBC Champions. Park went all 72 holes in Singapore without a bogey.
