SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Ian Poulter had quite the week at TPC Scottsdale's notorious par-3 16th.
During his pro-am round on Wednesday, Poulter thought he made his birdie putt and gave it an early walk.
Then in Round 1, Poulter's 7-foot par putt lipped out, which provided the crowd around the rowdy par 3 with plenty of ammo to heckle the European Ryder Cup star.
On Friday, Poulter's tee shot landed 7 feet from the hole and this time he tried to hole the putt one-handed. He missed.
After missing the cut at 4 over par, Poulter tweeted his explanation for trying the putt with one hand.
Just to explain. I holed at 24ft 1 handed out on 9. 12ft on 12. 6ft on 13. I putt nicely 1 handed in practice. Sometimes it works.— Ian Poulter (@IanJamesPoulter) February 5, 2016
