Ernie Els' 2016 is beginning a lot like 2015 ended, with yip-like misses.
Els missed an 18-inch par putt on his final hole Thursday at the BMW South African Open, his putt never touching the hole at the ninth.

He finished with a 1-over 73.
This has become an unfortunate trend for Els, who missed a pair of similar putt at last year, including the one below from the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
“If anybody has ever seen the yips, that was the perfect yip stroke," Els said at the time.
According to a story from the Press Association, former Ryder Cupper Andrew Coltart, who was commentating for Sky Sports, said on Thursday: “It’s brutal.
“He is a lot more comfortable from 15-20 feet; the expectation level is lower, no pressure on himself and he can breathe normally and just go through the stroke no problem at all. You come into the 3- or 4-foot range and things are completely different.”
