Sullivan making most of international exemption

DUBLIN, Ohio – On a day when an alternate took the lead at the Memorial it should have been no surprise that a little-known Englishman playing on a special international exemption would post the round of the day.

Andy Sullivan had eight birdies and no bogeys on Friday at Muirfield Village for a 64 to move to 10 under par and two strokes out of the lead held by David Lingmerth, a last minute addition into the field.

“It's a shot maker's course. And I like to maneuver the ball around quite a lot. So for me, it suits my eye,” said Sullivan, who finished tied for sixth last week at the Irish Open.

This is Sullivan’s second start on the PGA Tour following last month’s WGC-Cadillac Match Play where he failed to make it out of the pool play portion of the championship.
