(Thanks)giving mood: Claret jug's holiday home

NASSAU, Bahamas – Zach Johnson regularly references the work of his team – a group that includes his swing coach, trainer, caddie and manager – so it was little surprise that after he won this year’s Open Championship he wanted everyone to enjoy the victory.

Johnson allowed his caddie, Damon Green, to take the claret jug home with him during the Thanksgiving holiday.

“I was too afraid to fly with it,” Green said on Saturday at the Hero World Challenge. “I was so afraid driving around with it I kept checking the locks on my doors.”

Green said he took the claret jug to Thanksgiving dinner in Pensacola, Fla., and out to Osceola Municipal Golf Course so his friends could see the game’s oldest trophy.

“People love seeing it, there’s so much history,” Green said.
