U.S. Ryder Cup team practices with potential picks

Most of the U.S. Ryder Cup team – along with three potential captain's picks – practiced Monday at Hazeltine National in Chaska, Minn., host to next week's biennial event.

According to Golf Channel Insider Tim Rosaforte, members of the American squad who did not participate were Dustin Johnson, Zach Johnson, Patrick Reed, Matt Kuchar and J.B. Holmes.

Jordan Spieth, Phil Mickelson, Brandt Snedeker, Jimmy Walker, Brooks Koepka and Rickie Fowler teed it up Monday along with three who are considered the front runners for captain Davis Love III's final pick – Bubba Watson, Daniel Berger and Justin Thomas.

Vice captain Jim Furyk played a practice round on Sunday at Hazeltine, and Love has not ruled out using a pick on Mr. 58.

Rosaforte said Love flew to Atlanta, site of this week's Tour Championship, on a private jet with Watson, Berger and Thomas. The U.S. captain will make his final pick Sunday night on NBC during halftime of the NFL game.
