Actor Lucas Black turns pro on NGA Pro Golf Tour

In the film 'Seven Days in Utopia,' actor Lucas Black plays a down-on-his-luck professional golfer struggling to make it on tour. Proving that sometimes life does imitate art, Black has turned professional in an attempt to compete on some of the game's better circuits.

Black has signed up to play each of the next two events on the NGA Pro Golf Tour, beginning with next week's Avoca Classic in Windsor, N.C., and continuing with the following week's Cutter Creek Classic in Snow Hill, N.C.

According to a Golf Digest compilation of Hollywood's top golfers, Black is listed as a 2.7 index, though that ranking was produced six years ago.

The actor has competed as an amateur in both the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and the Humana Challenge on the PGA Tour.

Along with 'Seven Days in Utopia,' his film credits include 'The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift,' 'Jarhead,' 'All the Pretty Horses' and 'Sling Blade.'
