Azinger: Tiger's antics 'embarrassment to the game'

Former Ryder Cup captain and 1993 PGA Championship winner Paul Azinger criticized Tiger Woods on SiriusXM radio on Monday for his outburst at the 16th hole in the second round of the Masters.
After hitting a poor tee shot with a short iron to the par-3, Woods dropped his club and kicked it on the ground. Woods' ball plugged in a bunker, leading to a bogey en route to a 3-over 75.
“Tiger’s antics this week were an embarrassment to the game, to the membership at Augusta,” Azinger said. “I was really disappointed to see him carry on that way. He’s not trying to endear himself to anybody.
“I thought he acted like the south end of a northbound mule.”
Azinger, who has supported Woods on Twitter in the past, believes the 14-time major champion has become too technical in nature, worrying too much about mechanics instead of feel.
“I think his brain is full of swing thoughts, not swing feelings. He thinks he needs to know it all so he can fix what’s wrong, but that’s not what happened here,” he said.
A sentiment echoed repeatedly at Augusta National, Azinger believes Woods was more befuddled than ever.
"I can’t compare my career to Tiger Woods’ career for sure, but I’ll say this, in the 28 years I’ve played golf for a living I’ve never been as lost as he looked out there,” he said.
