Pepper unveils new children's book at PGA show

Dottie Pepper

ORLANDO, Fla. – Dottie Pepper is a TV golf analyst and former LPGA pro, and now she’s also a children’s book author.

During this week's PGA Merchandise Show, Pepper and Scott Fuller are releasing the first volume of “Bogey Tees Off,”  the story of an ambitious but lowly range ball with a big dream. Kenneth Templeton illustrates stories aimed at children ages 4-12.

“It’s the story of this little guy, a range ball, stuck in a dead-end job, who wants to make it to the PGA Tour,” Pepper said during this week’s PGA Merchandise Show. “He’s a cool character who young kids can identify with in golf, something the game’s never really had before.”

The series of books are about overcoming life’s obstacles with the aim of teaching life lessons beyond golf. Each book includes an autograph section young golf fans can use to get the signatures of favorite players. There are also Bogey character head covers, designed by Daphne’s Headcovers president Jane Spicer. A charity component of the venture benefits Folds of Honor, the Navy Seals Foundation and other endeavors.
