Golf Channel on Monday unveiled a new logo for the network, which will use the word “GOLF” next to the iconic NBC peacock. The logo will activate across Golf Channel’s various platforms in May 2014 in connection with The Players Championship.
The new version will replace the network’s traditional logo, which has been used on Golf Channel and NBC since the network became part of the NBC Sports Group in 2011.
“The English word ‘golf’ is recognized around the world and nearly in every language,” said Regina O’Brien, Golf Channel’s senior vice president of brand marketing. “With Golf Channel’s evolution over the past two decades from a cable television business to a global golf business, using the word ‘golf’ in our logo positions the business for further grow in the decades to come.”
