Already in charge of two PGA Tour stops each year, the Tiger Woods Foundation will now take over management and operational responsibilities for the Deutsche Bank Championship, according to a release from the organization.
Traditionally the second stop of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, the event is staged over Labor Day weekend each year at TPC Boston. Since the tournament's inception in 2003, the Foundation has served as the primary beneficiary of the event, and will now take over operational duties.
'The Deutsche Bank Championship has seen tremendous success thanks to the Boston community, the incredible fans and dedicated sponsors, and we are excited to play a bigger role in its management moving forward,' said Greg McLaughlin, president and CEO of the Tiger Woods Foundation.
In addition to its newest event, the Foundation also manages the AT&T National, held this June at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md. and the World Challenge, held this December at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
