Tiger Woods has committed to The Players Championship, he announced Wednesday on his website.

Woods withdrew after nine holes last year, citing a re-aggravation of the left knee and Achilles injury he suffered at the 2011 Masters. The year prior, Woods pulled out in the final round of the Ponte Vedra Beach event, citing neck pain.

Woods won the tournament in 2001 but has just one top-10 since then, finishing eighth in 2009.

World No. 3 Lee Westwood has also committed to the event, the PGA Tour confirmed. The Englishman did not play in the tournament last year. He had the 54-hole lead in 2010 before faltering in the final round.
