Playing your way through three FedEx Cup playoff events to the Tour Championship is a big accomplishment, something many PGA Tour veterans struggle with year in and year out.
Of course, it isn't a struggle for everyone. Daniel Berger made it to East Lake last year in his first season on Tour, finishing 11th in the FedEx Cup standings en route to becoming the PGA Tour's Rookie of the Year.Justin Thomas, who finished second to Berger in last year's race for top rookie, broke through to the Tour Championship for the first time this season, and he took to Twitter on Tuesday to gush over East Lake's ridiculously nice conditions.
Berger saw the tweet and just couldn't help himself, taking the opportunity to zing his buddy:
@JustinThomas34 you enjoying your first time here?— Daniel Berger (@DanielBerger59) September 20, 2016
Score that Berger - 1, Thomas - 0. A fact quickly acknowledged by Thomas himself and Colt Knost, because ... why not?
Of course the real numbers that count at East Lake are the ones on the scorecards, so Thomas could still get the last laugh by week's end.
