College student wins $500 with full-court putt

The Franklin Pierce University Ravens took down the Southern Connecticut State University Owls in a 81-79 thriller on Saturday, but the biggest highlight may have come from the halftime show.

Franklin Pierce, a small, private school in New Hampshire, started a new promotion over the weekend, letting students try to win $500 in airfare or books by attempting a 95-foot putt - from one end of the basketball court to the other - into a 3 inch hole.

And wouldn't you know it, one student, Brandon Knight, stepped up and hit one, as Gary Koch would say, better than most.

As nice of a story as this is, Knight might want to consider taking his talents to Auburn basketball halftime putting contests in the future.

Two years ago, a fan made this same exact shot at a Tigers game, and was awarded a new Toyota for his efforts, which last I checked, is valued at a little more than $500.
