Gregory Bourdy is a relative unknown at the U.S. Open.
A quick Google search shows that he has four European Tour wins to his name.
A quick glance at his second-round scorecard suggests that he's especially fond of holes 5 through 14 at Oakmont, a stretch he played in 7 under on Saturday to grab the solo lead, at least for a short while.
And a quick look at his outfit tells us that he really likes red wine. Like, enough to wear custom, red-wine shoes this week at the year's second major.
Seriously, look at these things:
Okay ... I mentioned in our interview the wine shoes that Gregory Bourdy would wear this afternoon. Here they are pic.twitter.com/OAvznMzyjK— Shane Bacon (@shanebacon) June 18, 2016
One could say he doesn't just like merlot, he lives for it.
