An actor from one of golf's most famous movies ran afoul of the law early Wednesday morning in North Carolina.
Christopher McDonald, who played Shooter McGavin in the 1996 film 'Happy Gilmore,' was arrested by highway patrol deputies in Wilmington, N.C. around 4:30 a.m. ET Wednesday and charged with DWI. According to a TMZ report, the 58-year-old actor's blood-alcohol level was 0.15, which is nearly twice the legal limit in North Carolina.
McDonald, who starred more recently on the HBO series 'Boardwalk Empire,' was reportedly in the Wilmington area to film an upcoming movie.
According to the report, the actor was released approximately three hours after his arrest, having posting a $1,000 bail, and now faces a Dec. 11 court date.
