Nearly two years ago, Miguel Angel Jimenez became an internet sensation when video circulated of his unique stretching routine on the driving range before his round during the 2011 British Open. Now hoping to bounce back from a broken leg sustained in the offseason, the Spaniard explained in detail to Golf Monthly the various gyrations he uses to prepare for a round.
In the three-minute video, Jimenez goes through a routine that includes both upper- and lower-body stretches, using two clubs to create resistance. In typical Jimenez style, he begins the routine with cigar in hand.
A winner at the UBS Hong Kong Open on the European Tour last year, the 49-year-old broke a leg while skiing in his native Spain in December. He returned to action in April, missing the cut at the Open de Espana.
