Trump now wants to play Jackson for charity.

Update: Jan. 5, 1:50PM ET

Donald Trump hasn't let anyone get the last word so far during his presidential campaign – or his entire life, for that matter – so you just knew he'd have a response to Samuel L. Jackson's comments.

And on Tuesday he delivered this blow:

So will this mark the end of the juiciest golf beef of 2016? For our sake, we hope not.

It's probably safe to say Donald Trump isn't getting Samuel L. Jackson's vote for president, at least according to a recent interview he gave to United Airlines’ "Rhapsody" magazine.

The legendary actor didn't pull any punches when it came to his relationship with the Republican frontrunner, saying their association with one another begins and ends on the golf course.

“I would never say buddies,” he said. “Or friends. I’ve golfed with him."

Jackson also cleared up who is the better golfer, himself or The Donald, and in the process added some fuel to the fire that Trump isn't averse to using the old foot wedge from time to time

"Oh, I am for sure. I don’t cheat," said Jackson, when asked who was the better stick.

But perhaps the most interesting anecdote from the profile was Jackson's story about being charged member dues at Trump National Golf Club, despite not being a member.

"Last week or so, I actually got a bill from Trump National Golf Club," Jackson said. "And I haven't been there in four or five years, so I had my assistant call. They said it was for membership dues. And I said, 'I'm not a member,' and they said, 'Yeah, you are - you have a member number.' Apparently he'd made me a member of one of his golf clubs, and I didn’t even know it! ... I'm not payin' that!"

Donald Trump, ladies and gentlemen ... the gift that keeps on giving.
