Leaderboard shifts at Transamerica Classic

RSS

As the end of the Transamerica Classic draws near, the leaderboard for the second tournament of the WGT Virtual Tour season has seen some significant changes.

Now topping the table in the Tour Legend division is dansamcam, who claimed the first event of the year and posted two rounds of 54 at Congressional Country Club during this month's 18-hole, stroke-play event. That gave him a one-shot lead over Ireland's stevenharkin, who carded rounds of 55 and 54, though several notable names have yet to post a second-round score, including first-round co-leaders FairwayRuepel68 and BolloxInBruges.

The Legends tier is currently led by American LyonWoulds, who shot a two-round total of 113, while Iceland's emmafrost paces the the Tour Masters division with the same 36-hole score. SantanaHellstrom's 116 score currently tops the Masters division, while turtlemtu leads the Tour Pros with a 120 and RoarEMackElroy is currently first in the Pros division with a 116 total.

Players had an unlimited number of chances to post a first-round score by Feb. 21 at Congressional, site of the 2011 U.S. Open, but only have one chance to play their second rounds by Feb. 28. Once tournament play concludes, the top finishers from each division will split the 200,000 WGT-credit purse.

Round 2 highlights include stevenharkin's hole-out on the par-4 12th hole and an accurate approach from Johnny302011 on the opening hole.
