his horses and his dogs. What the hell am I doing here? Tom Watson has collected 8 major championships along with 6 senior majors. He is clearly in love with the game, but the game did not always loved Tom Watson back. He had chances to win majors early in his career but was tortured by his inability to close the deal. And by some of his peers who labeled him a choker. But with the combination of dogged Midwestern determination and his unusually high intellect, he tore that label of and frequently beat the world's best. Tom Watson was born to play golf. He was a scratch player by the age of 13, joined the PGA tour in 1971, but-This is a result of Hillary, my wife. -A big part of Tom Watson's career were the caddies that he chose. He had Alphy Files at the British Open and of course there was the delightfulbreakfast yet", and takes a bite out of it. -Late in 1976 Tom Watson was struggling with a lack of consistency and his reputation as a choker as firming up. the same thing. I have the great good fortune to be around Tom Watson and amazingly there was a period in the middle of his career where he hated the game. He was too much underneath. He was stuck. He was hitting pushes and he really didn't want to play at all, but he got over it and this was the tip that he used so I gladly pass this on to you in the hope that it's going to help you. Tom Watson , short version ended up putting something behind his shoulders. This is actually a fixture for changing lights, could just be either belook on the downswing. So let me take a leaf out of Tom Watson's book here. I'm going to turn and feel that the right shoulder stays a bit higher. That should stop me getting trapped underneath or too much behind it. And that one, I rather like, so for me I have to use that thought or maybe you do too. Keep that right shoulder higher. It doesn't come much better than Tom Watson for advice, you know. -

And Damon, we have Tom Watson on Morning Drive on Wednesday and it's always fun when you talk to a legend, particularly one as thoughtful as Tom Watson . He's had a lot of great moments. Do you think there is a clear defining moment of his career? -It's a tough call but for me it's 1977 at Turnberry battling Jack Nicklaus. They traded big shots all week long, birdies on 18 on Sunday, and the fact that they hugged and walked off that golf course together, you saw the graciousness of Tom Watson and the incredible humility of Jack Nicklaus. from a wonderful person is a wonderful player. The Timeless Swing by Tom Watson . This book is so good if you could only pick one book to learn the swing A to Z, this might beto the side of the club. One more thought from the great Tom Watson that I love is that his father was a great influence on him and so is the great [unk] man that I know and respect so greatly, and Tom said when he was growing up at a very young age his father said, "Tomtom get your belt buckle to the finish of the swing facing the target," belt buckle to the target to the finish of the swing. You can see that in Tom Watson's swing to this very day in his 60s. I think that's why as Tom calls it he doesn't suffer from cement legs.
