Bubba to wear Ping Sensor Cool glove for charity

RSS

Bubba Watson always seems to march to the beat of his own drum. So when it comes to his latest endorsement, it should come as no surprise that the agreement is rather unique.

Watson will debut a new Ping Sensor Cool glove starting at this week’s Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego and in exchange Ping will make an annual donation to the Bubba Watson Foundation. While the exact terms of the agreement were not released, the total amount of the donation will be based on the number of gloves sold.

The Bubba Watson Foundation supports charities including The First Tee of Northwest Florida, Fresh Start, Birdies for the Brave and the Ronald McDonald House of Pensacola.

“I’m excited to partner with PING by wearing the new Sensor Sport glove and at the same time help raise funds for my foundation,” said Watson in a release. “My wife Angie and I want to use golf to assist those less fortunate.”

“Instead of a traditional endorsement agreement, we’ll contribute to Bubba’s foundation annually,” said John A. Solheim, Ping Chairman & CEO. “It was Bubba’s idea and it fits his desire to use his status in the game to assist charities that are doing good work in their communities.”

The Sensor Cool line features three new gloves – Sensor Sport, Sensor Tour, and Sensor Tech – with technology that wicks moisture away to keep the golfer cooler, drier and more comfortable. They will be available to the general public in mid-February at Ping-authorized golf shops and will retail from $14-$24.
