Hahn follows 58 with ... 78 at Euro Tour Q-School

John Hahn’s bizarre week at European Tour Q-School continued Wednesday.

After a fourth-round 58 moved him into the top 15 with two rounds to play, the former Kent State star bombed out to a 78 – 20 strokes higher! – to put his 2015 tour card in jeopardy.

Only the low 25 and ties after six rounds will secure their playing privileges for next season. When he finished his round, Hahn was in a tie for 49th with one round to go.

A day after making 12 birdies while playing preferred lies on the Tour Course at PGA Catalunya Resort in Spain, Hahn came back with three doubles (all on his front nine), two bogeys and a pair of birdies at the Stadium Course. It added up to a 78, which wasn’t even his worse score of the week. That came in the second round, when he followed his opening 67 with a second-round 79.

That’s right, his scores this week read like this: 67-79-72-58-78. For the week, he is 15 under on the Tour Course (which is 723 yards shorter) and 13 over on the Stadium.

There’s only one explanation: It’s golf.
