Fleetwood won the European Tour Order of Merit after a tense battle with Justin Rose that was decided only on the 72nd green of the DP World Tour Championship, the final event of the season. Spain’s Jon Rahm won the $8 million (6.8 million euros) tournament, firing a five-under par 67 that gave him a one-shot advantage at 19-under par 269 over Ireland’s Shane Lowry (63) and Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat (67). / AFP PHOTO / KARIM SAHIB (Photo credit should read KARIM SAHIB/AFP/Getty Images)

The door to Rolex world No. 1 is open for Stacy Lewis at the Airbus LPGA Classic this weekend.

With No. 1 Inbee Park missing the cut Friday, her first missed cut in an LPGA event in exactly a year, No. 2 Lewis can take the top ranking from Park with a victory, or with a second-place finish with no more than a tie with two other players, or with a solo third-place finish.

Lewis shot a 2-under-par 70 Friday, moving her to a tie for eighth, five shots off the lead in Mobile, Ala. Park shot rounds of 74-76, missing her first cut since May 23 of last year at the Pure Silk Bahamas Classic.

Park has reigned atop the world rankings for 58 consecutive weeks. She took the top spot from Lewis, who held it for four weeks before Park overtook her on April 15 of last year.
