Players from around the world can secure a spot at Royal Troon through the Open Qualifying Series.
The Series consists of 10 combined tournaments on the European Tour, PGA Tour, PGA Tour of Australasia, Asian Tour, Japan Golf Tour and Sunshine Tour, as well as four Final Qualifying events.
Sites offer one, three or four spots into the Open Championship, breaking down like this:
- 1 spot inside the top 5 and ties, not otherwise qualified
- 3 spots inside the top 10 and ties, not otherwise qualified
- 4 spots inside the top 12 and ties, not otherwise qualified
Each of the four Final Qualifying sites offer three spots.
