PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Tributes to Arnold Palmer will be pouring in with the PGA Tour’s schedule turning to the Florida swing, where the Arnold Palmer Invitational promises to be a celebration of all things Arnie in three weeks.
Just about every Tour pro who has played the event has a Palmer story.
Ian Poulter had a funny tale to tell Wednesday when asked if Palmer ever autographed anything for him.
“He signed a $100 bill which my wife actually spent one time,” Poulter said. “It was in the safe. She didn’t realize it was actually signed by Arnie, so it’s out there somewhere.”
Where did his wife spend it?
“I have no idea,” Poulter said. “It was probably in Publix, to be honest.”
Poulter said Palmer was kind enough to sign another $100 bill for him as a replacement.
