Final round postponed in Bermuda because of high winds; Monday finish still up in air

There will be no golf played in Bermuda on Sunday.

The PGA Tour announced the final-round postponement of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship at 8 a.m. ET, citing “no improvement to the current weather conditions and anticipated further deterioration.”

Wind gusts topped 40 mph on Sunday morning at Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton. The Tour had already pushed up tee times, including the final grouping to 8:46 a.m. ET, before delaying them 30 minutes because of high winds at 6 a.m. Sunday. The next update, two hours later, cancelled play for the remainder of the day.

The Tour will provide information on a potential Monday finish no later than 4 p.m. ET. Monday’s forecast includes scattered showers and gusts up to 30 mph by the afternoon.

Austin Smotherman and Seamus Power currently share the 54-hole lead at 16 under.
