Hubbard gets engaged after round at Pebble

As far as style points go when getting engaged, it's tough to top the scene Mark Hubbard put together Thursday at Pebble Beach.

A rookie this year on the PGA Tour, Hubbard completed his opening round at the host course of this week's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and promptly dropped to one knee behind the 18th green in front of girlfriend Meghan McCurley:

Hubbard, 25, went to school at nearby San Jose State and has made the cut in seven of his first eight starts this season. His best finish came last month when he tied for 20th at the Humana Challenge. He shot an even-par 72 at Pebble Beach and sits eight shots off the early pace heading into Friday's round at Monterey Peninsula.

While he didn't make as many birdies as he had hoped for in the opening round, Hubbard did get the answer he was after: McCurley said yes.
