Add Sara Brown to the list of contestants for the Big Break Invitational at Reynolds Plantation, Sept. 30-Oct. 3.
Golf Channel's Todd Lewis made the announcement on Monday at the Zach Johnson Foundation Classic.
Brown, who competed in “Big Break Sandals Resorts” and “Big Break Dominican Republic”, is currently playing full time on the Symetra Tour. She is the eighth player to commit to the BBI, a list which includes: Tommy Gainey, Gerina Piller, Jackie Stoetling, Emily Talley, Mallory Blackwelder, Isaac Sanchez and Sadena Parks.
Big Break Invitational is a four-day tournament comprised of 40 Big Break alumni – 20 men and 20 women. The first two rounds will feature a modified Stableford format (players earning points for birdies or better and losing points for bogey or worse), with the top 10 men and top 10 women making the cut. The third round will feature match play, with the 10 winners (five men and five women) advancing to an 18-hole stroke-play final round.
There will be one overall champion, who will pocket $100,000 of the $300,000 purse.
