One of the strongest early-season fields of the new year is taking shape – in Abu Dhabi.
Tournament organizers announced Wednesday that Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler will join Rory McIlroy and Henrik Stenson at the European Tour's HSBC Championship on Jan. 21-24. That group represents four of the current top seven in the world ranking.
Spieth has already committed to play the following week, in Singapore.
This will mark Spieth’s first appearance in Abu Dhabi, while Fowler played the event last year and McIlroy has recorded four runner-up finishes in the past eight years there.
It should be a busy January for Spieth, who is scheduled to begin his year at Kapalua.
