Watson, 66, makes the cut at the KLM Open

After rounds of 68-69, Tom Watson managed to make the weekend at the KLM Open in The Netherlands.

The eight-time major winner and two-time Ryder Cup captain, who celebrated his 66th birthday last week, made the 3-under-par cut on the number.

He sits nine shots back of the lead held by Soren Kjeldsen heading into the weekend at Kennemer Golf and Country Club.

Watson also made the cut earlier this year at the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town.

Notable names who failed to match Watson include Tommy Fleetwood, Richie Ramsay, Thomas Bjorn, Thorbjorn Oleson, Miguel Angel Jimenez and once and future Ryder Cup captains Paul McGinley and Darren Clarke.
