AUGUSTA, Ga. – Matt Kuchar is bummed he didn’t win his beloved Masters.

He played at Augusta National often while in college at Georgia Tech, he played here twice as an amateur and made the cut both times, and he’s finished in the top eight here the last two years.

Kuchar has won a PGA Tour playoff event, he’s won The Players and he’s won a World Golf Championship. A major victory is Kuchar’s next step.

But it’ll have to wait for another time.

“It’s an exciting place to be but it’s a tough one,” Kuchar said after a final-round 74 Sunday that left him in a fifth-place tie. “I don’t know how many opportunities you get at winning the Masters Tournament. I don’t know how many more I’ll get.

“It’s one of those things you get in the situation and you hope to take advantage, but it’s a lot better in this position than playing early on Sunday, that’s for sure.”
