AUGUSTA, Ga. – Tiger Woods’ manager Mark Steinberg confirmed on Sunday that the world’s No. 1 player will “likely” play the Americas Golf Cup, a two-man team event that will be played in Argentina.

Woods, who underwent back surgery last week and is not expected to return to competitive golf until later this summer, seems poised to team with Matt Kuchar at the event, which will be played Oct. 23-26 in Buenos Aires.

“It’s highly likely it’s going to happen and we’re just working on some of the details,” said Steinberg, who also represents Kuchar.

Woods teamed with David Duval to win the 2000 World Cup in Argentina.
