Tip of the Week: Keep the club in front of the body

RSS

Hal Sutton is considered one of the game's great ball-strikers, a talent that helped him win 14 times on the PGA Tour, including two Players Championships and a PGA.

When it came to Sutton's golf swing, he said a simple tip that he got as a 17-year old from legendary instructor Harvey Penick was key to his success through the years.

That tip was that the club needs to stay in front of the body throughout the swing, a concept that Sutton exhibits in this video segment.

Too many amateurs, conversely, get the club stuck behind them in the golf swing, which leads to all sorts of problems.

But as Sutton explains, if you can feel as if the club is in front of you and in the middle of your chest throughout your swing, you'll enjoy much better results.
