MELBOURNE, Australia – Phil Mickelson will not break out the belly putter at Royal Melbourne the southpaw said on Tuesday.

Mickelson, who began using the belly putter at this year’s Deutsche Bank Championship, practiced with his normal standard-length model as he prepares for this week’s Presidents Cup and said he doesn’t expect the longer version to return to his bag anytime soon.

“I will use it as a practice aid and will spend some time with it during the offseason,” Mickelson said.
