NORTON, Mass. – Two days before the opening round of the Deutsche Bank Championship, Tiger Woods remains listed in this week’s field.

We should find out on Thursday the extent of a back injury that affected Woods throughout last week’s Barclays. He is scheduled to compete in the tournament’s pro-am at 6:50 a.m. ET, and then will speak with the media following his round.

Previously, Woods withdrew from friend Notah Begay’s NB3 Foundation Challenge. Tuesday, however, a commitment to the Deutsche Bank event was added to his website schedule.

“I have spoken to Notah, and I would also like to express my personal regrets to the Oneida Indian Nation, sponsors and fans that I am unable to play in the Notah Begay III Foundation Challenge,” Woods said in a statement.

The Deutsche Bank Championship is being contested Friday-Monday, allowing an extra day of rest for Woods this week. The tournament also benefits the Tiger Woods Foundation.

After a share of second place at The Barclays, he remains in first place in the current FedEx Cup standings.
