THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – On Tuesday afternoon, Tiger Woods was spotted walking through the Sherwood Country Club parking lot carrying a half-dozen drivers.

When he finally settled on one, it was one that hasn’t previously been in his bag during official competition.

Woods will use the Nike VRS Covert 2.0 driver at this week’s Northwestern Mutual World Challenge.

Fellow Nike endorser Rory McIlroy recently won the Australian Open with this club in his bag, as did Charl Schwartzel at the Alfred Dunhill Championship.

During the 2013 season, Woods averaged 293.2 yards per drive to rank 49th on the PGA Tour and hit 62.50 percent of fairways to place 69th.
