Fifty-two years later, a look a Jack’s first paycheck

Charlie Harrison birdied his singles hole and advanced to the Super Immunity final match.

Jack Nicklaus earned his first professional paycheck on Jan. 8, 1962. His tie for 50th at the Los Angeles Open earned him $33.33. An Instagram account bearing his name tweeted a photo of the check, 52 years later.

Nicklaus won 73 times on the PGA Tour and made a total of $5,734,322. He’s currently 220th on the Tour’s career money list, one spot behind David Peoples.
