12/2/00 -- 1999 U.S. Amateur champion David Gossett fired a 13-under-par 59 on the Jack Nicklaus Private Course at PGA West in La Quinta, Calif. The round, as impressive as it was, was also much needed as it put the 21-year-old in position to earn his 2001 PGA Tour card.
12/1/00 -- An already miniscule field just got a bit more compacted at the Williams World Challenge in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Sergio Garcia, Davis Love III and Tiger Woods have pulled away from the nine other players in the elite field at the Sherwood Country Club.

Defending champion Fred Couples, Sergio Garcia, Vijay Singh and Colin Montgomerie compete in the 18th annual Skins Game at the Landmark Golf Club in Indian Wells, Calif., beginning Saturday.

11/21/00 -- Tiger’s world tour makes a stop in Kauai, Hawaii for the 18th Grand Slam of Golf at the Poipu Bay Golf Course. Woods will compete against Masters champion Vijay Singh, Paul Azinger and Tom Lehman in the two-day stroke-play event.
11/21/00 -- Vijay Singh carded a 3-under-par 69 to take the lead after the first round of the 36-hole PGA Grand Slam of Golf in Kauai, Hawaii. The reigning Masters champion leads Tiger Woods (71) by two shots. Tom Lehman (73) stands four off the lead, while Paul Azinger is five back after opening in 74.

Using a variation of the flatstick that produced three major titles, Price carded 11 birdies and two bogeys for a 9-under-par 63 and the first-round lead in Sotogrande, Spain.
