Major champion Henrik Stenson’s 16-year-old son has committed to play golf at the University of Florida.
Karl Stenson, rising junior at Circle Christian School in Orlando, Florida, is currently ranked No. 118 in the Universal Golf Ranking, 15th in the Class of 2028. Stenson, who also goes by Kalle, announced his verbal to the Gators on Friday.
Stenson is also No. 2,628 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and has played mostly junior and amateur events in Sweden this summer. Last year, he won events in Sweden and Spain.
He isn’t the first son of a former European Ryder Cup player to commit to Florida. Luke Poulter, son of Ian Poulter, is a senior for the Gators and a two-time Walker Cupper.
The Gators are ranked No. 1 in Golf Channel’s preseason team rankings entering the 2026-27 season.
