One of the best walk-offs in college golf history took place Sunday at Sahalee Country Club.
Washington senior Finn Koelle arrived at his final hole of the Sahalee Players Championship, the 214-yard, par-3 ninth, tied with Oklahoma State’s Eric Lee for the individual lead. One swing with his 5-iron later and not only had Koelle holed the shot for a walk-off ace, but the hero strike had always given him the individual title by two shots.

Koelle, who hails from Sulzfeld, Germany, finished the 54-hole event, the first of the Huskies’ season, at 7 under, capped by Sunday’s final-round, 6-under 66.
Washington finished third as a team at 26 over, two shots back of preseason No. 1 Florida. Oklahoma State took the team title by a whopping 28 shots as the Cowboys also got top-5s from its other two All-Americans, Preston Stout and Ethan Fang.
Koelle, last year’s Big Ten individual runner-up, is coming off a strong summer in which he tied for 30th at the DP World Tour’s BMW International Open and reached the Round of 32 at the U.S. Amateur.
