The Ben Hogan Award watch list was released Friday, with each of the top 10 and 19 of the top-25 players in Golfstat’s individual rankings represented.
The Hogan Award is given annually to the top player in college and amateur golf during a 12-month period.
Leading the group of hopefuls is Georgia Tech senior Ollie Schniederjans, the No. 1-ranked amateur in the world. Arizona State’s Jon Rahm is also likely to receive strong consideration for the award, along with Alabama’s Robby Shelton, Texas’ Beau Hossler and Washington’s Cheng-Tsung Pan, who became the first player to be named to the watch list all four years of his college career.
Illinois (three) and Arizona State (two) were the only schools with multiple players named to the list.

A list of 10 semifinalists will be released April 15, with the finalists announced on May 6. The winner will be named at a black-tie banquet at Colonial Country Club on May 18, prior to the start of the PGA Tour’s Crowne Plaza Invitational.
