The first round of the NCAA Women’s Division I Championship in Eugene, Ore., was full of surprises, with eighth-ranked Oklahoma State taking the lead and No. 1 Alabama finishing 23rd of 24 teams. The top eight after Monday’s final round of stroke-play qualifying advance to the eight-team match-play bracket.

Skinny: Chih-Min Chen led the way for Oklahoma State with a 69, and none of her teammates shot worse than 73. In contrast, Alabama got a 69 from Cheyenne Knight, but no other Crimson Tide players shot better than 76. Defending team champion Stanford is in the middle of the pack at 7 over par.
