To say Dom DeBonis has had a run of good luck on the golf course would be the understatement of the year.
The 81-year-old 14-handicapper recorded four aces in a span of 33 days, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, including three in three days while on a buddies trip to Myrtle Beach.
Here’s the timeline of his incredible accomplishment:
Sept. 3: Records first ace in 45 years at the par-3 fifth at the Villages with a pitching wedge from 101 yards.
Oct. 6: Aces 112-yard 17th at Farmstead Golf Club in Calabash, N.C., with a 9-iron.
Oct. 7: Aces sixth hole at Thistle Golf Club in Sunset Beach, N.C., with a 7-iron from 129 yards.
Oct. 8: Aces fourth hole at Blackmoor Golf Club in Murrells Inlet, S.C., with an 8-iron from 118 yards.
“I just couldn’t believe it,” DeBonis told the Post-Gazette. “The guys were going bananas. They said we got to buy lottery tickets, so we went and bought a bunch of lottery tickets.”
DeBonis hasn’t won the lottery yet, but considering his recent history don’t bet against him.
