PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Another week, another T-4 finish for Wesley Bryan.
The PGA Tour rookie held a share of the 36-hole lead at the Honda Classic before being passed by eventual champion Rickie Fowler. Bryan still managed to tie for fourth after an even-par 70 in the final round left him five shots off the pace.
The result equals Bryan’s career-best finish on Tour and matches his result last week at the Genesis Open, where he briefly challenged Dustin Johnson.
“I feel like I played better, more solid last week,” Bryan said. “This week I had spurts of good, but wasn’t as sharp. It’s good that I can still make mistakes and not be as sharp and still have a chance to win on the back nine on Sunday, so that means we’re getting a little bit better than where we were at the beginning of the year.”

Bryan won three times last year on the Web.com Tour, earning an immediate promotion that makes him exempt from any reshuffle this season on the PGA Tour. He entered this week ranked No. 96 in the world, and his result at PGA National is projected to move him to around No. 75 when the new rankings are published.
Bryan will play both the Valspar Championship and Arnold Palmer Invitational, still with hopes of cracking the OWGR top 50 by March 27 in order to earn his first Masters bid.
“Obviously I want to get into Augusta, so I know I’ve got to keep my head down and keep going to work each and every day, trying to figure out a way to get a little bit better,” he said. “Hopefully I’ll have a chance to win a couple more golf tournaments between now and Augusta, so that’s kind of where the main focus is.”
