INCHEON, South Korea – Bubba Watson snapped his driver while warming up for his Saturday morning foursome match at the President Cup.
Watson teed off the first hole with a 3-wood in the alternate-shot match with J.B. Holmes, and U.S. officials scrambled back to the team hotel in time to deliver Watson’s backup as the twosome approached the first green.
“We got it for him,” said assistant captain Fred Couples, who delivered the pink-shafted backup. “He pounded it on [No.] 3.”
Watson missed the fairway at the third from the tee, and his match against Adam Scott and Marc Leishman was all square through two holes.
