Dufner distracted by Scott’s good looks in Colonial playoff

With the FedExCup Playoffs just a week away, Henrik Stenson picked a great time to get hot. The Swede shot a final-round 6-under 64 to finish at 22 under par, a record for the Sedgefield Country Club course, and hold off Ollie Schniederjans (who also shot 64).

Jason Dufner didn’t stand a chance against Adam Scott in the playoff Sunday at the Crowne Plaza Invitational. But it wasn’t for reasons you might expect.

Both are major champions. Both can hold their own between the ropes. But Scott has something Dufner doesn’t have: model good looks.

And it was Scott’s good looks that proved too much for Dufner to handle, who ultimately lost on the third extra hole Sunday at Colonial.

“It’s tough to beat him,” Dufner said. “He’s a great player. It’s tough to concentrate. He’s so good looking, too.”

While Dufner’s accustomed to being around beautiful things (have you seen his wife?), it was his first time facing Scott in a playoff. It’s not a total loss, however, because he’ll know how to better handle the distraction the next time around. That, and, he’s still married to Amanda.
