“Extremely [slow]. That’s putting it nicely,” said American Stacy Lewis of Wednesday’s pace. “I knew it was going to take probably close to five, between 4 ½ and five [hours]. It’s a lot of golf course to walk and takes some time, but I didn’t expect it to be that slow.”
Lewis didn’t know why the pace was so slow on Day 1 and said her group, which also included Jutanugarn and Sei Young Kim, had to wait from their opening tee shots.
Numerous groups were put on the clock but no one was issued a penalty for slow play.
